Welcome to the Tweedsmuir Ski Club. We are a unique winter sports club, more than 50 years old. We use the south Tweedsmuir Park East Branch area, located off Highway
20 near the top of the Bella Coola Hill, approximately 95 kms east of the townsite of Bella Coola, BC or 40 kms west of Anahim Lake, BC.
We operate a small ski and snowboard hill with a handle bar tow, our volunteers groom 30 km of cross country ski trails, and we maintain access to the alpine for snowmobiles. Up until 2009 we also accepted reservations for up to 10 people to stay overnight at one of our cabins in Tweedsmuir Park approximately 2 km from Highway 20. Unfortunately the Heckman Pass wildfire in 2009 burnt this cabin, but we are working on a plan to replace it. Our club is unique because it represents and organizes both motorized and non-motorized winter sports enthusiasts and enables all user groups to share the Southern Tweedsmuir Park, Rainbow Mountain area and allows BC Parks to have one unified user group to communicate with. We have worked closely for many years with government agencies to ensure there are no wildlife or people/snowmobile issues in any sensitive areas and to reserve a large area for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Anyone, anywhere, can join our club. We need the financial support and volunteers to help with worthwhile projects which benefit all ages and types of winter recreationists. Enjoy our area and please respect the unique arrangement we have.
